Michael Donald – “I Scored a Goal in the World Cup Final”

Michael Donald has spent a whole year in a quest to photograph the most exclusive band of brothers in football - the 34 surviving scorers of World Cup Final goals for his forthcoming book “I Scored a Goal in the World Cup Final” and his film documentary of the same name. AOP Assistants Award: Mike Whelan wins £500 Direct prize

In our ongoing support of the Association of Photographers, Direct offered £500 in credit to the winner of the recent AOP Assistants Award, held at their headquarters in Leonard St. London. The quality of the entries was, in our modest opinion, extremely high and Mike was voted overall winner. He plans to use the £500 credit at Direct on lighting for a shoot of portraits for a government body but as its still all being confirmed at the moment he can’t say more about it just yet! Phil Dunlop got the idea for his Models’ Gym working as a 1st assistant in the Fashion Industry. Shot at Big Sky Studios using Direct kit, he created the spoof shoot as a light-hearted satire about the fashion industry where models regularly work out to look good for the photographic industry.
